About this course
This course is for those working in web, film, video, animation or other screen-based environments. Photoshop is different things to different people but this course spends less time on print graphics issues (colour, CMYK etc) and more time on image optimisation, preparation and animation.
Our masterclass series is designed to solidify important concepts and extend skills beyond the basics through more targeted knowledge. In this class we focus on preparing images for the web, video, powerpoint, Acrobat or any screen-based media.
What you will learn
This course will concentrate on those features of Photoshop which can be used to correct, enhance and prepare digital images for low-resolution, RGB output as used in screen-based media.
We'll begin with a review of important techniques such as adjustment layers, layer comps and layer masks, then move on to more advanced tools, the use of colour and alpha channels, and layer styles.
The course will then examine paths and vector objects (including vector masks) before moving on to advanced filters and effects.
Critical time will then be spent on preparing images for the web or screen using Save for Web and Devices, and we'll look at Adobe's new Device Central companion application, along with related features in Bridge and Bridge's access to automation and scripts.
The course will also cover slicing and preparing web graphics, animation techniques and the use of new video features such as video layers.
As with all masterclass, time can be made available to discuss any specific problems you may be having with your own work, depending on the group size and relevance to other students.
Assumed knowledge

The course may be attended as an additional day to our 2-day Photoshop Essentials course or may be attended on it's own. If the latter, you should have been using Photoshop for a while as we will assume a reasonable level of familiarity with the application. If in doubt,
contact our office to discuss your requirements.
