Learn how to take your edited video through to successful DVD production in this one-day masterclass using Premiere Pro and Encore DVD (now combined in CS3 and CS4).
DVD has become the format of choice for both business and personal producers and consumers of video. Unlike the now obsolete VHS, DVD supports very high image quality, great sound in multiple tracks, non-linear access, and a variable, remote-driven user interface. This course is an introduction to DVD authoring for both aspiring producers and established editors wishing to make the move to creating professional DVD programs for commercial or private use.
What you will learn
The course is based on Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 and Encore DVD which is now bundled within the same application.
We'll begin where our Premiere Pro Level 1 course finishes, revising some editing and examining effects and transitions before moving on to concepts of markers, chapters and DVD navigation principles.
The course will use Photoshop to develop background images and navigation elements (although other tools may be substituted if desired) and we'll appropriate sequences for use as animated backgrounds in a variety of contexts.
Some time will also be spent on preparing and including audio from different sources along with related concepts of sampling rates and compression codecs.
By the end of the course you should have a solid understanding of advanced video editing, preparation and compression for DVD and have enough knowledge to develop your own DVD projects using video, still images and music.
Assumed knowledge

No prior knowledge of DVD authoring will be assumed but you should have either completed our Premiere Pro Level 1 course or have been using Premiere or another non-linear editing program enough to move beyond the basics. If in doubt or
