What you will learn
Understanding, identifying and creating a web strategy is the first important step. We then go on to discuss the stages of planning a web project, followed by a solid introduction to the web development process. The importance and drain on resources of content creation is then highlighted, before we move on to illustrate web development considerations and costs.
We then look towards making one of the most important decisions in web development: outsourcing or in-house development. Both of these options are explored and the risks identified, placing the project manager in a more powerful position to make the correct choice.
The final third of the course is devoted to offering advice towards the practical services that must be engaged before a web project can be initiated. Focus is given to web hosting, domain names, ISPs and email management. We finish up with discussion on practical web management issues, how to prevent stagnation of web applications, web maintenance considerations and finally to the importance of Google ranking and promotion of your final product.
